Customer context
IntVeen specializes in tank transport, tank container services, tank cleaning, repair and terminal activities. From multiple locations, the organization supports customers in a sector where reliability and safety come first. The company runs its own IT team, led by IT manager Jelle Riekstra. That team manages the daily IT environment and business critical applications, but was looking for additional expertise in networking and security. There was a particular need for support on specialist topics such as firewall management, network segmentation, monitoring and complex expansions.
The existing IT environment worked well, but the organization wanted certainty that its network and security could keep pace with the company's ambitions. In a logistics environment where processes run continuously, an outage or security incident can directly impact operations. That is why IntVeen went looking for a specialist who would not just deliver technology, but actively think along on availability, security and future developments.
Reason for
change
Challenge
The challenge was not replacing the internal IT team, but strengthening it. IntVeen wanted to keep control over its own environment, while specialist knowledge needed to be available whenever required. At the same time, the infrastructure had to stay reliable, secure and scalable. That calls for an approach where network management, security and support fit seamlessly into the daily reality of an organization that depends on systems running well around the clock.
Reliance supports IntVeen with specialist network and security services. These are built on Fortinet Security Fabric, which brings firewalls, switching, network segmentation and monitoring together in one integrated solution. The collaboration includes delivery and management of FortiGate firewalls, implementation of FortiSwitches, monitoring of network components, second and third line support, advice on expansions and changes, and tactical review of future developments. According to consultant Kaveh Golshayan, it is mainly about providing certainty. "At IntVeen, we saw an organization where IT is essential to the business, but where the internal team wanted to be relieved when it comes to specialist security and network management."
Approach
Collaboration
What makes the collaboration work is the clear division of roles. IntVeen keeps control over its own IT environment, while Reliance adds specialist knowledge exactly where it delivers the most value.Whenever questions come up about configurations, security alerts or network issues, the lines are short. There is no distant helpdesk construction, but direct access to specialists who know the environment. On top of that, every quarter includes a look ahead, not just at performance and incidents, but also at future developments in networking, security and infrastructure.

Results and future development
The collaboration means IntVeen's internal IT team can focus on core applications and daily support for the organization, while networking and security are continuously monitored. That brings peace of mind, not just for the IT department, but for the whole organization. The infrastructure is stable, security is actively monitored, and specialist knowledge is always available when needed. That lets IntVeen keep its focus on what it does best: logistics services that stay reliable and predictable. That way, processes keep running, employees keep working, and the flow stays intact. Today, tomorrow and for the long term.
