Your role as Managed Services Engineer

You are part of the Managed Services operations center: a compact team of engineers and a coordinator that remotely manages customers’ workplace IT. You handle incidents ranging from first-line questions to complex management and outage issues. Because the team is small, you get to know our customers quickly and can truly make a difference with personal attention and craftsmanship.

Beyond support, you work on management, monitoring, security services, and projects. You prepare migrations and renewals and also execute them yourself. That means no two days are the same and you keep developing broadly across the stack.

What you'll be doing

  • Resolve incidents and outages, from simple user questions to complex technical issues.
  • Manage and monitor servers (on-premises and cloud), workstations, and network equipment.
  • Work daily with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Deliver managed security services to protect customers’ data and applications.
  • Prepare and execute migrations, renewals, and improvements for customers.
  • Contribute to projects within managed services and infrastructure.
  • Actively contribute ideas for improvements in management, tooling, and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the operations center to support customers quickly and effectively.
  • Work within agreed service hours: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 9:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.


Your profile

We’re not looking for someone who just processes tickets. We want an engineer who feels responsible for stable customer environments. You are service-oriented, practical, and enjoy truly helping customers. You feel at home in an MSP environment where technology, collaboration, and reliability come together.

  • Completed MBO level 4 education or higher in IT.
  • Extensive experience as, for example, a system administrator, support engineer, or managed services engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Windows 10/11.
  • Experience with Azure, Microsoft Defender for Business, Lighthouse, Endpoint Manager, Datto, or Autotask is a plus.
  • Service-oriented and a strong communicator toward customers and colleagues.
  • Flexible mindset and not a strict 9-to-5 attitude.
  • Willing to work rotating service hours.

As a Managed Services Security Engineer, you keep customer environments digitally resilient. You make sure threats are seen, understood, and resolved before they cause harm. From our Breda location, you work for customers who rely on stable, secure, and demonstrably well-configured IT. You bring clarity to complexity, combine technical depth with clear advice, and ensure security isn’t a paper exercise but a solid foundation.

Your role as Managed Services Security Engineer

You are the subject-matter security specialist within our managed services. You ensure security measures are not only implemented, but remain demonstrably effective. You handle complex second-line incidents, execute focused security implementations, and advise customers on improving their security posture. From Breda, you work with engineers, the service desk, specialists, and customers to reduce risk and ensure compliance, today and tomorrow.

What you'll be doing

  • Handle and resolve second-line security incidents and complex security issues.
  • Analyze security alerts and incidents (triage, root cause, mitigation, and preventive measures).
  • Deliver small-scale security projects focused on implementing and optimizing security solutions.
  • Implement and manage security policies, configurations, patches, and hardening measures.
  • Proactively monitor security infrastructure and perform vulnerability and patch management.
  • Support audits and compliance programs (including NIS2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CIS M365 Foundations).
  • Document security measures, decisions, and exceptions in an auditable and traceable way.
  • Create reports on incidents, risks, trends, and improvement recommendations.
  • Align periodically with customers on findings, priorities, and structural improvements.
  • Work closely with Managed Services, vendors, and internal stakeholders to continuously improve security.
  • Contribute ideas on standardization, tooling, and process improvements within our security services.

Your profile

We’re not looking for a “ticket processor,” but a security engineer who feels ownership of customer security. You think ahead, work in a structured way, and make complex security topics understandable for customers and colleagues. You feel at home in a managed services environment where technology, advisory work, and reliability come together.

  • Completed MBO level 4 education or higher in IT.
  • Demonstrable relevant experience in a comparable security or managed services role, at HBO working/thinking level.
  • Experience with server, network, cloud, and/or Microsoft 365 security environments.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
  • Experience with, or interest in, cloud security (Microsoft 365, Azure).
  • Familiar with ITIL processes and working within SLAs.
  • Certifications such as MD-102, MS-102, SC-200, and/or SC-300 are a plus, or you are willing to obtain them.
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for structural improvements.
  • Strong communicator, able to coordinate clearly with customers and internal teams.
  • Accurate, professional, and used to working in an auditable way.
  • Proactive, resilient, and comfortable taking responsibility.
